I documented the music video for Yawa by Saydie, a metal band led by Kat Taylor, released in October. The shoot was a macabre, horror-themed production, featuring intense practical effects, custom prosthetics, and highly stylized makeup looks that brought the band’s dark, theatrical vision to life.

The two-day shoot took place in Laguna, inside an old house that perfectly matched the eerie, unsettling tone of the video. Lea Ancheta handled beauty and SFX makeup, while Geraldyn Cañete created intricate prosthetics for each band member. Together, they crafted ghostly and custom looks that enhanced the video’s horror aesthetic. Practical effects were produced by Persioux Crowley’s team, Multomedia, adding layers of gore and surrealism to the set.
As the on-set photographer, I focused on capturing both behind-the-scenes moments and key stills that document the complex production.
The imagery showcases the creative collaboration between the cinematography team, production designers, makeup and FX artists, and the band, preserving the intense energy and highly stylized visual language of the project.

This documentation highlights the intricacy and dedication behind a full-scale music video production, blending macabre artistry, practical effects, and meticulous creative execution.
Beyond capturing the visual spectacle, the photos tell the story of collaboration—how the cinematographer, production designer, makeup and prosthetics team, and the band came together to build an immersive, unsettling world. Each still reflects the intensity, creativity, and precision required to bring Yawa to life, preserving both the artistry and energy of the production for viewers and the team alike.
